BMW Coolant Sensor Housing - Used This is the aluminum housing found an certain models that houses the coolant temp sensor and the temp-time switch. This is not the thermostat housing. Cars using this housing have a thermostat that comes in its own seperate housing. |
|   |
BMW Fan Blade - Used This is the fan blade mounted on the end of the water pump via the fan clutch. It's purpose is to help pull air through the radiator to keep the engine cool. |
|   |
BMW Fan Blade Bolt Lock Plate - Used This is the tab that bends up to keep the fan blade bolts from coming loose. |
|   |
BMW Fan Blade Spacer - Used This is the block of aluminum between the fan blade and the water pump pulley. Found only on cars without a fan clutch. |
|   |
BMW Fan Blade Thrust Washer - Used This is the large washer in front of the fan blade underneath the bolts. This is used with fan blade that bolt directley to the water pump pulley. |
|   |
BMW Fan Clutch - Used This is located between the water pump and the cooling fan blade. The fan clutch has a viscous center that, as it heats up, locks up and causes the cooling fan to spin fast. When the car is cool, the fan blade will rotate freely.
The ONLY way to check a fan clutch is when the car is at operating temp and running, try and stop the fan blade using your hand and a towel. A good fan clutch, at operating temp, should not stop spinning when force is applied.
Please do not attempt this at home, use a trained professional! |
|   |
BMW Fan Clutch Spacer - Used The fan clutch spacer is a pyramid shaped piece of aluminum that mounts to the water pump. The fan clutch then bolts to the spacer. This is used only with bolt-on fan clutches. Spin-on clutches mount directly to the water pump. |
|   |
BMW Fan Shroud - Used The fan shroud mounts on the radiator. It's purpose is to increase air flow through the radiator. |
|   |
BMW Fan Shroud Aftermarket - New The fan shroud mounts on the radiator. It's purpose is to increase air flow through the radiator. |
|   |
BMW Intercooler Assembly - Used This is the small radiator that cools the forced air for the turbo charger. |
|   |
BMW Oil Cooler Control Valve - Used This is the inline valve that controls oil flow to the cooler. |
|   |
BMW Oil Cooler Lines for Engine - Used These are the lines going from the engine oil filter housing to the oil cooler itself. |
|   |
BMW Oil Cooler for Engine - Used This is the Engine Oil Cooler. It purpose is to cool the engine oil to reduce friction within the engine. |
|   |
BMW Power Steering Cooler - Used Pipe behind front grills that cools power steering fluid. |
|   |
BMW Radiator - Used Located in the front of the car. This is the part of the cooling system where the heat exchange takes place. |
|   |
BMW Radiator Bracket / Mounting Clip - Used This is the clip or bracket that holds the radiator into the car. |
|   |
BMW Radiator Cap - Used Fill cap on radiator. For most cars see COOLING Radiator Over Flow Tank Cap. |
|   |
BMW Radiator Over Flow Tank - Used This is the metal or plastic tank that collects coolant from the radiator. This tank is usually seperate from the radiator, however on some newer models it is a located on the side of the radiator. |
|   |
BMW Radiator Over Flow Tank Cap - Used This is the fill cap on the radiator over flow tank. Most BMW's do not have cap on the radiator itself. Cap is under pressure. |
|   |
BMW Radiator Rubber Mount - Used The rubber mounts vary from model to model. The main purpose of the rubber mount is to keep the radiator from wearing a hole through it at the mounting points. |
|   |
BMW Radiator Side Cover - Used This is the plastic cover on the side of the radiator |
|   |
BMW Thermo Valve - Used Located on the temp sensor housing. Green with 2 vacuum lines coming from it. |
|   |
BMW Thermostat Housing - Used Aluminum housing for thermostat and sensors. |
|   |
BMW Throttle Body Thermostat - Used Located in the air filter housing, this thermostat controls the temperature of the water going to the throttle body. |
|   |
BMW Transmission Cooler - Used Located near the radiator, this is a seperate cooler for the transmisison fluid. |
|   |
BMW Transmission Lines - Used The transmission cooling lines route transmission fluid from the transmission to the radiator to be cooled and then send the fluid back to the transmission. |
|   |
BMW Water Accumulator - Used This is the aluminum pipe that connects to each head on the back of a V8 and V12 engines. The water pipes from the front of the engine run down the middle of the engine and into this accumulator also. The coolant temp sensors are located in this pipe. |
|   |
BMW Water Pipe Engine - Used This is usually a metal pipe that runs the length of the cylinder head. It brings the water from the back of the engine to the water pump. Some water pipes have sensors in the pipe. Most pipes usually connect on each end with a rubber hose. |
|   |
BMW Water Pump Aux. Electric - Used This is the electric water pump located on the fire wall inside the engine bay. It's purpose is to pump water through the heater core. |
|   |
BMW Water Pump Engine - Used The water pump circulates the water through the engine cooling system. It is usually located on the front of the engine just behind the fan clutch. |
|   |
BMW Water Pump Pulley - Used This is the pulley on the front of the water pump behind the fan clutch. |
