BMW Auto Level Pump - Used
This part is located in the trunk, under the spare tire of an E28 or E24. The auto level pump supplies hydraulic pressure to the auto level shocks, thereby controling the rear height of the car. E32 and E34 and later cars use the power steering pump to supply hydraulic pressure. SEE STEERING - Power Steering Pump

BMW Auto Level Shock - Used
This applies to rear shocks only. Auto level or Load level shocks have a hydraulically controlled height adjustment. Utilizing the rear sway bar as a point of reference, any additional weight added to the car results in activation of the system to maintain a constant ride height. Depending on the year and model, either the power steering pump or a seperate pump located in the truck is used to supply hydraulic pressure to the load level system. This system is automatic, there is no on/off switchto activate it.
