Located on the intake manifold, this valve allows gases from the engine to be burned up. |

This is the control valve on the intake manifold. It controls the butterfly valve located inside the lower part of the intake manifold. |

These are the brackets used to support the intake manifold. |

BMW Intake Manifold Warm-up Plate - Used
Plate on intake manifold that has engine coolant pass through it to control the air temperature inside the intake manifold. |

BMW Intake Plenum - Used
This is the large aluminum chamber that bolts to the intake manifold. This is usually only found on E30 M3's.

BMW Suction Hood / Air Boot - Used
This is the rubber boot that connects the intake to the air flow meter or mass air sensor. |

BMW Suction Pipe - Used
This is the metal pipe that directs air into the intake manifold. Found only on a turbo diesel. |

BMW Throttle Actuator - Used
Found on cars with ASC+T, this is the motor that controls the throttle opening. |

BMW Throttle Body - Used
The throttle body contains the butterfly valve that controls the amount of air entering the intake manifold. |

BMW Vacuum Control Valve - Used
This is the unit that monitors the vacuum inside the intake manifold and controls the opening and closing of the butterfly inside the intake manifold. Opening and closing the butterfly speeds up or slows down air passing through the intake causing more or less vacuum. |

BMW Vacuum Limiter - Used
This is one of two brass colored diaphrams connected to the suction hood for an E21. The vacuum limiter is the one with the vacuum line and the mounting bracket. E12's have a limiter also but it's gray and is just above the valve cover near the fire wall.
The vacuum limiter does just what it says, it limits the amount of vacuum that builds up in the intake manifold. |
